The EC4RURAL project continues to advance in the implementation of the pilots in Spain and Estonia with the celebration of an online workshop where the partners will share the work done since last September.
This virtual meeting will take place next Tuesday 11th June in two sessions:
- In Spain: from 12:00 to 13:30 and from 16:00 to 17:30 hours
- In Estonia: from 12:00 to 13:30 and from 13:30 to 14:30 hours
In the first part, which will be common to both countries and in English, the University of Vigo (coordinators), Sapiens Energia, the University of Tartu (UTARTU) and the Association of Estonian Cities and Municipalities (AECM) will participate. Through their interventions, participants will be able to take the status of implementation of community energy in relation to renewable energy. There will also be a debate on the obstacles encountered in the implementation of energy transition and community energy in both countries and at EU level.
Interested parties can join via Zoom here.
Development of the Galician pilot
In the second part, the workshops will be differentiated in each country. In the case of Spain, the session will be held from 16.00 to 17.30 hours in Galician and Spanish and will focus on the energy transition that EC4RURAL is promoting in the 22 Galician municipalities through the Energy Communities. The mayors of the municipalities of Entrimo, Avión (Ourense) and Rosal (Pontevedra) will be on hand to share their experiences.
Afterwards, Sapiens Energia will give a summary of how the participatory process is developing in general. Through this presentation it will be possible to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the Galician context for energy transition, as well as the definition of energy diagnostics and community energy plans in the context of Galicia.
Interested parties can join via Zoom here.
Development of the Estonian pilot
In the case of Estonia, the session will be held in Estonian from 13.30 to 14.30 hours and the University of Tartu will analyse both the strengths and weaknesses of the Estonian context for energy transition as well as the definition of energy diagnostics and strategic community energy plans in its specific reality.
At the end of both sessions will open a dialogue among participants to identify good practices in energy transition in rural communities.
