From 11th to 13th April, FEGAMP, one of the member entities of EC4RURAL, attended the ExpoMunicipal fair in Silleda to present our project and CEL RURAL, in which it also participates. Both promote energy communities in rural Galician municipalities.

In his welcoming speech, Secundino García, second vice-president of FEGAMP and mayor of San Sadurniño, emphasised that in Galicia energy communities are a form of local and social empowerment, promoting a decentralised, democratic, and sustainable energy system. “It is a system that makes it possible to take advantage of the endogenous renewable resources of the territories, while at the same time creating green and quality employment opportunities that contribute to the settlement of the population in rural areas,” he pointed out.

The EC4RURAL coordinator was also able to visit the FEGAMP stand at the fair, along with other members of the project’s technical team.

ExpoMunicipal 2024 is the first fair of products, services and technologies designed for municipalities, especially the smallest ones, to obtain specialised information on the problems they face and the solutions that can be provided by companies from different sectors and entities from different fields. In this inaugural edition, it shared the calendar and venue of the Silleda Green Week with the biennial Enerxétika Forum, a coincidence that certainly allowed synergies to be combined.
